CNRS Cooperation with Taiwan

Outline map of Taiwan

THE COOPERATION BETWEEN CNRS AND TAIWAN IS ONE OF THE MOST DYNAMIC OF THE REGION.

Taiwan is one of Asia’s main research players, with 35,000 publications a year. This is strongly supported by its public policies, as exemplified by Taiwan being for years among the world top five countries for the intensity of its research (Gross Domestic Expenditure on Research and Development as a percentage of the GDP).

Taiwanese institutions have consistently been key partners for CNRS. This cooperation has been producing outstanding research, as the copublications with Taiwan show one of the world best impact factor during 2010-2019 for CNRS (Category Normalized Citation Impact data).

The creation of four new collaborative projects (three International Research Projects and one International Research Network) between Taiwan and CNRS in 2021 shows the willingness of CNRS to further develop its scientific cooperation with this country.
